Purpose:
Family Promise of Brevard (FPOB) has this privacy policy in place to help maintain trust and to
protect the personal information provided to us collected through all outlets. This policy is
separate and in addition to any employee or client privacy policies.
Definitions:
Personal information - information that identifies someone personally, such as name, address,
telephone number, or email address.


Policy:
FPOB is the sole owner of the information collected and only has access to collect information
that is voluntarily provided.


The types of information we collect and maintain includes:

  • Contact information: name, address, telephone number, and email address

  • Giving information

  • Information on events attended and publications received
     

We collect and store the personal information that you have provided in multiple ways. These
include (but are not limited to):

  • When you request information through an email address identified on our website

  • When you contact us in person, by phone, or by email

  • If you register for an event

  • When you contribute, either through our website, over the phone, in person, or by mailing a check

  • When you submit a request for services
     

Use and Disclosure of Personal Information

  • We will not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal information with anyone.

  • We will not send you mailings on behalf of other organizations.

  • We will only share your personal information if you give us specific permission to do so.

  • We will collect payment information, billing address and other information necessary to process a donation or event registration.

  • We will use your information to comply with the law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to conform to the requirements of law or comply with legal process served on us, protect, and defend our rights or act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of others.

  • We will use personal information to protect against potential fraud. We may verify with third parties the information collected while processing a gift, event registration or other donation. If you use a credit card or debit card, we may use card authorization and fraud screening services to verify that your card information and address matches the information that you supplied to us and that the card being used has not been reported lost or stolen.

We may use your information to understand your interest in our mission, to update you on
FPOB’s plans and activities, and to respond to inquiries from you.

Security
We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information, your
information is protected both online and offline. Wherever we collect sensitive information
online, that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this
by looking for a closed lock icon at the bottom of your web browser or looking for "https" at the
beginning of the address of the web page.

While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your
information offline. Only staff, board members, volunteers, and consultants who need the
information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information.
The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure
environment.

You may see what data we have about you (if any), change, correct, or delete any data we have,
express any concerns about use of your data, or opt out of future contacts from us at any time by
